Volumes
Block Storage provides block devices that can be attached to compatible compute resources. Customer is responsible for partitioning, filesystems, application consistency, mounting, encryption, permissions, and safe detach procedures.
Data Integrity
Customer must use application-consistent backup and snapshot procedures. A snapshot or replicated volume may capture an inconsistent filesystem or application state if Customer does not quiesce writes appropriately.
Attachment and Performance
Attachment limits, region restrictions, throughput, IOPS, latency, and capacity limits depend on the plan and architecture. Published performance figures are not guarantees unless expressly incorporated into an Order.
Deletion
Deleting a volume or allowing an account to terminate may permanently destroy data after applicable retention periods. Customer must export required data before deletion or termination.
